Wall Sweep and Cutting through it.

I'm working in Revit 2025 and I have constructed an external wall, which is a basic wall made up blockwork and insulation and I have a decorative stone sweep to the external face. My windows and doors, which flex correctly, do not cut through the sweep, and the window and door surrounds cannot be seen. Do you know what the problem is and how I can resolve the issue.

I've already tried a profile, a hosted profile, and a face based generic model, but without success.

It depends on how those sweeps are modeled. If you have used the Wall: Sweep tool,

Select the sweep
Edit its type
Check the option Cut by Inserts

I have modelled the sweep as you have suggested, in fact, I've modelled it a few different ways. I was told that a profile sweep was too rigid, and to use a faced based generic model instead, but neither of them worked.

Rigid in what sense?! You can apply wall sweeps in any way you wish to, there are always ways to work with any/all of them. They all either cut at inserts as shown in the previous reply or can be set up to be cut by the inserts when that insert is loaded and placed in the family...You can clearly see in the GIF that it cuts?

Wall: Sweep components under walls (Cuts when you enable the option shoed in previous GIF)
Wall Sweeps imbeded into the wall structure (Cuts if the Option Cuttable is checked - See image below)
A Sweep modeled as a Family (regardless is it is Face Based, Wall Based, Generic Line Based...etc) can be cut if the Insert family used when
- the insert family has a cutting element in it which allows you to use Cut Geometry in the model
- the option (in the family) cut with void when loaded is checked

None of the given solutions is complicated...upload your revit file and I can show you how based on the elemnts you have used

If you use wall sweeps (if they are horizontal or vertical) then Cut by insert option should do it. If you use a family for the sweeps (if you need the sweep to follow a slope) then you will have to cut them manually with solid mass, or place multiple segments to clear the openings. You can also use railing for for such application.

How did you resolve the issue? I am dealing with the same thing, and the cuttable check box did not work for me either.
