So I've just started a new project and switched to Revit 2024. The font size of my properties dialogue box is the way I'd like to view it in terms of font size. The Project Browser however always opens up with a font much much smaller. Sometimes I'm able to increase the size of the font by using my side scroll mouse button but it resets every single time I open a new session and I'm not always able to make it bigger. This leads me to think that it's not being controlled by the system settings. Any idea how to fix this issue?

I’m not sure you can do much to resolve this I use CTRL plus the mouse wheel to zoom in but it’s hardcoded as the text size in the UI is controlled by your resolution in Windows. If you go into Control Panel > Display you can adjust the size of the text, which will adjust it in Revit.

Yes, I verified that I had the latest download. I can use the zoom function with the control key to get a larger font in the browsers. Unfortunately, I have to change the Project Browser each time I open a new session. It would be nice if Revit would remember my preference

Do you have Windows monitor scale set to 100%?

for me (43" 4K monitors) the default font size is just fine.

I just set mine to too large (for me), closed Revit, and re-started it. Font size had defaulted back to original size. So, yes, the problem actually exists and makes the zoom feature useless if you have to do it every session. I forgot where the site is to report a bug. you could try the "ideas" forum... but IMHO this is more a bug than lack of a feature.

I think this iis what jay_colombe is referring to. but it will change EVERYTHING.

Note that Autodesk recommends using 100%. what's your monitor size and resolution?

I've not adjusted the scale. We run 2x 27" monitors that I've got set at 2560x1440. I'd love to go to one larger curved monitor. Maybe that'll happen in the future.

I was literally scrolling through the project browser when the font changed size and got tiny. All fonts in other windows remained the size they were originally.

So the idea that the font size in the browser cannot be changed is clearly false. I did it, I just don't know how, and I want to undo it.

There's a lot written on how to change fonts for Revit. That doesn't answer the question.

Of course, we are mostly referred to videos, where we watch for ten minutes and discover that they don't answer the question, without the ability to skim through a document without wasting time.

Product documentation is, unfortunately, a lost art, and developers rely on forums like these to solicit opinions and tricks from users, rather than spending the time and money to write out decent documentation.

If anyone knows how to change the font in the project browser separately from all other fonts, I'd appreciate sharing the answer.

It CAN be done, or my project browser font would not have changed suddenly.

Thanks and /endrant

Hi Peter,

This is a known limitation in Revit — the font size of the Project Browser is not controlled by Windows display settings or Revit UI scaling directly, unlike the Properties palette which responds to system DPI scaling.

🔹You’re correct that occasionally using your mouse scroll wheel or side buttons might temporarily increase the font size, but unfortunately, Revit does not retain this setting between sessions. It resets every time you restart the application.

Possible Workarounds:

Adjust Windows Display Scaling:

Go to Settings > System > Display > Scale & layout

Try increasing the scale to 125% or 150%. This affects the overall UI, and while it improves the Properties palette, the Project Browser usually remains unaffected.

Magnifier Tool (Windows built-in):

If your primary concern is readability, the Magnifier tool (Win + +) can help you temporarily zoom into specific UI areas like the Project Browser.

Feedback to Autodesk (Highly Recommended):

Since this is a recurring issue and impacts accessibility, I suggest posting it as a feature request in the Revit Ideas forum:
👉Revit Ideas - Autodesk

Advanced (Not officially supported):

Some users attempt registry tweaks or UI customization tools, but these come with risk and are not officially documented or supported.

Hopefully, Autodesk will provide better control over font scaling in future releases.

I found that the default Font size in the Project Browzer was too small by default and found that you can control the size of the font by holding down the CTRL key and using the mouse scroll wheel will increase or decrease the font size. Perhaps you accidentally had your finger on the CTRL key as you were trying to browser.
Unfortunately for me, the default font size is too small and it can't be changed so every time I open Revit, I have to use that technique to increase my browser font. Bit of a pain @autodesk
Please type your reply above this line -##

So the Project Browser font size issue was not addressed in Revit 2025. The programmers actually found a way to make it worse in Revit 2025. Now in 2025, if I have 2 projects open at the same time and I'm going between projects, the font resets to the tiny font each time so there is really no way of having the font stay the way I've set it even within one session. That is absolutely brutal Autodesk!
