Hi everyone,

I was asked to align the dimensions marked in the image underneath with red with the wall that's on its left (The one that follows the slope on the dark blue line) while showing the same dimensions that are currently shown.

I have never done that, neither have I found an option around (not at least as obvious as I need) to do that with a couple of clicks. So my question is... Is that even possible in Revit? And, if so, how can I get there?

You would need to create additional points of reference on the Black line to click/select.

You could create reference lines from the physical elements to this line and then turn off in the view when done.

You then create the dimensions from these points aligned against the Black Line.

You may need to use the Tab Key to pick to Points/Dots as the dimension will be looking for elements.

Like said before, you would need an additional point of reference. Usually you could create a reference plane that is perpendicular to the wall you are trying to dimension. (and then hide reference planes in V/G graphics).

You could also use <Invisible Lines> and draw a very small line (again perpendicular to the wall) and then copy it along path of the dark blue line.

As for the values of dimension: you could copy the lines accordingly with your values, so you actually have this dimension, or you could Override the values with other value.

I question the decision making of the person telling you to do this... The dimensions are currently showing the distance between those parallel lines, which seems far more important than the distance between the ends of those lines along the diagonal face. Seems like someone that's more worried about their drawings looking pretty rather than showing relevant information.

Sure, and it certainly is a condition that you will need some tricks to dimension in the future. And unless you just started, or you have a really toxic work environment, I would at least ask why they want it dimensioned that way.
