Is anybody else experiencing a crash every time you try to sync your Revit model with Twinmotion.

Is there a solution for this?

Before diving into deep troubleshooting, please try the following steps to resolve the crashing issue:

1. Update the Twinmotion Datasmith Exporter Plugin

Often, a Revit version mismatch occurs if the Datasmith plugin is outdated. Uninstall your current Datasmith Exporter via the Windows Control Panel, then download and install the latest version compatible with Revit 2027 from the official Epic Games / Twinmotion website.

2. Purge and Clean the Revit Model

Corrupt geometry or overloaded families can trigger a crash during synchronization. Try this:

Go to Manage tab > Purge Unused (do this a few times until nothing is left).
Run an Audit when opening your Revit project file.
Check for any complex or corrupted 3D RPC families/trees that might be causing the exporter to fail.

3. Direct Link vs. Datasmith File Export

If the "Sync" (Direct Link) button keeps crashing Revit, try using the file export method as a workaround:

In Revit, use the Datasmith tab to Export the model as a .udatasmith file.
