Glad to help.

It has to be setup on each machine--I think there might be a way to push this out to all machines via the .ini file or a similar feature--will check into this.

Edit: You can set the path in the .ini file. See link below.

http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2014/ENU/?guid=GUID-C1EAD1F7-0897-4C04-9F0E-E5E4376AB6DB

A Group Policy might be able to push the .ini file to each machine. Check with your IT manager or research Windows Server/Group Policy.

Custom Material Library - Missing Image Files

Hi there,

I'm working on developing a simple Revit template for a firm and one of the most important things to include is the standard materials and finishes. I've gone through and created a bunch of custom materials and then assembled those into a library.

When another user opens a project on their computer using the template, all the materials and material libraries appear, but all materials with an image in their appearance asset show up as a missing file. I was very careful to put all the material images on the shared network drive, as well as the library file itself. So all the images are accessible to be re-linked, but it's just a time-consuming process and kind of defeats the purpose of having a materials library.

Anything I might be overlooking? Is there a way to have a defined path to the material images built into the template?

Thank you

I'm not sure exactly what is causing yout issue, but---

Make sure all users machines have this setting pointing to the material maps location:

Options>Rendering>Additional Render Appearance Paths

Thank you so much! That would explain why it was working on my program but no one else's.

Is there a way to build this into a template? Or is this something that has to be adjusted for every individual machine?

Thanks again!
