I believe you can set up sheet parameters and assign them to the annotation symbol family, then filter the schedule by sheet name / number?

(Again, Keynotes, Keynote Text File and Keynote Legends are a better approach IMO.)

I'm making a note block and when creating the text label I am unable to snap to anything? I can eyeball it and get it close, but seems like using snap would be a lot easier and more percise.

Thanks,

Jeff

Note block is definitely what I want and I watched some tutorials on creating them, but I'm have a problem adding rows. See the attached jpeg's.

Jpeg 1 - shows the note block on the sheet and it looks correct with how I want it to look.

Jpeg 2 - has the title selected and I can add row here

Jpeg 3 - has the note content selected, but the add row is grayed out.

I have looked all over and cannot find answer to this. What is the A & B columns, they dont show when out of edit mode?

Thanks,

Jeff

Okay I have one more question on note blocks. If I want to use the same note block on multiple sheets, but all the notes do not appear on all sheets. I was thinking of two ways of handling this.

1) to add a note to the note block that says something like "All notes may not appear on this sheet"

2) or maybe if possible would be to have a override for notes that dont appear on sheet and add text ommited or not used.

3) create separate note block for each sheet but this seems like a lot of work and probably not a good idea.

anyone have suggestions?

Thanks,

Jeff

You should be able to create duplicate Key Note Schedules and place on multiple sheets.

FWIW---in the future you should consider Keynotes. This is where "true keynoting" is a better approach than Note Blocks. You can create Keynote Schedule and set to By Project or By Sheet.

I see what you mean about creating a duplicate, but It want a unique name. I want it to just say construction notes on all sheets. See attached Jpeg for an example. In the jpeg I changed notes 15 and 24 to omitted, but now iI'm stuck with construction note copy 1. Anyway to do this? I will be checking out keynote schedules, but for now I'm going to use the note block.

Thanks,

Jeff

Be careful when you changing some notes to Omit on the copied schedule because it would change on both. Both schedules reference the same symbols and their fields.

If you want to use Note Blocks, you better be okay with a master schedule with an umbrella note saying 'not all notes are applicable' or such. If you go with true Keynotes, you can opt to have a per Project schedule which is smilar to above, or per Sheet schedule, which is still one schedule but it only picks up the keynotes placed on the target Sheet. If you are familiar with Revisions setting, they are pretty much the same. As Cliff has pointed out, it may be a better option for you.

Keynotes need to tag to actual objects: model entities or detail components. Note blocks do not. They are just generic annotation symbol you can place anywhere.

No. Keynote tags a single object, very much like any other tags such as door's or windows. That's why it can only have a single leader. You can either fake it in by add leaders to a blank annotation family, or put several of the same keynote on top of each others.
