"The only workaround i have found and it worked it was to download this installers mentioned on this forum.........It's really such a bummer to pay a lot for licenses and to not have full support of ARM machines this days regarding other software tools."

So you got it resolved by using the correct installer? Right? If so, what is the complaint? Any software will require using the correct installer.

And you purchased a Windows (x86) software that was advertised as such. You can't really complain about it not running on MacOS (ARM at the time). It also won't run on Linux, or Itanium platforms. Kind of like buying a diesel car and then complaining it doesn't run on gasoline.

Steps to reproduce
Hello, I have a problem. I just discovered that Revit does not work on Apple devices. Is there a way to help? I have just purchased my device and it has been shipped. It will arrive soon. I did not imagine that a large company like Autodesk would not support Apple devices. It has many other programs that work on Apple devices, such as AutoCAD. So why does Autodesk not support Revit?

Expected results
i need Revit for MAC

Actual results
no support

URL where issue occurs
https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Autodesk-Revit-2017-on-Mac-OS-X.html

Browser
Safari

OS
Mac

This has been explained on multiple threads

They are not going make a MAC version

This is directly from Autodesk: https://portal.productboard.com/crkywfycp9bsrfpvxkbukii5/c/102-revit-for-mac?utm_medium=social&utm_source=portal_share

System requirements are also posted on their website here: https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-requirements-for-Autodesk-Revit-products.html

You will need to run windows on your MAC either with boot camp or parellels

Are you getting new M1, 2, 3 chip Apple or Intel base chip? M1, 2, 3 require you to run parallel to make it work. For intel base chip, you can use bootcamp. If you need more detail, check this site.

https://machow2.com/revit-for-mac/

So, it is Autodesk's fault that you order a computer without researching if it runs the software you need?

Even if you would have ordered a PC (or Revit would run on Mac), most people would have researched first if the hardware is sufficient (powerful enough CPU/GPU, RAM etc.).

Autodesk probably wanted to sell to the 99% of AEC professionals Worldwide that use a PC instead of focusing on the 1% that use a Mac. They also don't want to pay the 30% fee to Apple for the software they sell. And Apple keeps flipping around which platform they use. Now they are on ARM, but previously they were on x86. who knows what they will use in 2 years. It isn't feasible to re-create a huge software like Revit every few years. For better or worse, the PC uses the same x86 and can use legacy software.

You know the future? If I was in that situation, I would buy stock options and derivatives. With the trillion of $ I make, I can hire a team to program the perfect BIM software. I wouldn't even make it Mac-compatible because with all that money I would hire people to create hardware and OS that suits myself perfectly.

I thought bitcoin is the future. Now they say it is doge coin. For the last 60 years fusion reactors have just been 10 years away.

ARM isn't a single platform. It is more a licensing scheme and each company (from Samsung, Apple to everyone else) still make their own derivative of chips and OS etc. So there isn't a single ARM platform (like x86) and a Mac, Android or any other device still will not be compatible (or need inefficient emulators).

I'm not married to x86 and gladly switch. But any alternative needs to provide solutions for ALL my needs currently covered by x86 software.

The questions weren't irresponsible. Buying the hardware before asking the questions was irresponsible.

Since when was asking questions irresponsible???

Nothing was hostile. You are basically buying a system that is based on a certain platform. If you have the wrong platform, don't blame the system you bought. Like if you have 208V in your facility, don't buy 480V equipment and then complain that your utility only gives you 208V. And Windows being the World's largest desktop system forces all manufacturers to at least offer a Windows product. It is not trivial at all to have a complex software (plus the entire ecosystem of add-ins!!!) to be made for multiple OS.

These Mac questions come up, and that is fine. But it is a bit like on a Linux forum where users say Linux is the best OS, but then complain that Adobe, Autodesk, QuickBooks etc. don't make a product for Linux. The best OS is the one that runs all your applications.
