When creating a new sheet, is there a way to set a default titleblock to be highlighted when you open the dialog box? When you have a long list of title blocks it is a pain to scroll through the list to select the correct titleblock - espically when you use the same one 95% of the time (and it is not the current defult titleblock). Currently when we open the new sheet dialoge box, a titleblock about halfway thought the list is selected (see attached image), so I assume there is a way to set a default???

Why don't use then a Template with Sheets predefined with this title block?

If we setup a template for each titleblock we would then have more than 1 master template to maintain. As I am sure you know it is difficult enough to maintain one master template.

Every project file I have defaults the highlighted choice on the list to the one most recently used. So once I create a sheet, all the following sheet default to the same sheet unless I pick a different one. Is this not the behavior you observe?

Same issue here, we have 4x templates (A4,A3,A2,A1) and A4 is always selected. Surely there is a solution?

This is an old thread, but you can specify the default sheet under

Annotate > Tag > Loaded Tags and Symbols

Scroll down to the sheet category, and select which one to make the default when making a new sheet.

Well.. turns out that was a fluke and setting it in the default annotations didn't really make it "stick" on the right sheet.

It had been working, but stopped working pretty much as soon as I wrote this post.

#Revit2016 #figures

You have to edit the title block family that you want to be the default, rename it, and load it back in project. It will stay as the default title block for sheet creation (until you load a new title block family in, then repeat the steps).

I experienced that the highlighted titleblock was the one last loaded into the project or template file. I simply deleted the titleblock i wanted to set to default from the project browser, and loaded it back into Revit.

They are different solutions in that you don't have to rename the titleblock. You can simply delete it, then re-insert it. I just tried it and it worked.

For those who want to know the full steps:
1) In the Project Browser, expand Families/Annotation Symbols
2) Highlight the titleblock, right-click, then choose Delete.
3) Then in the file menu tabs on top, go to Insert/Load Family
4) Go to View, then click Sheet. The loaded titleblock should now be set as default.

That only works for your templates as long as you don't have any instances of that titleblock used for standard sheets for instance.
