How to snap Generic Family Volume model to floor

Hi everyone!

I have created a simple generic family of a box that has three parameters, width, length, and height. All parameters are instance parameters. When I place the family inside a project with a grid, I can snap the edges of the box in plan view to grid lines. However, when I want to snap the vertical bounds to the floor line above it, it doesn't allow me to. Does anyone know why?

Here the volume in elevation view, I can't snap it to the next level.

Hi,

You have to change the bottom constraint of the height parameter. Attach it to the bottom reference plane instead of level.

It's because the Height constraint is associated to the Level Reference and not the Reference Plane!

Edit the witness Line > deselect the Level Reference > Tab Select the Reference Plane

@ralphdenhaan I picked up the post with no replies only saw yours when mine posted so there must have been a lag somewhere on the forum otherwise i would have accepted your solution.
