Schedules with 'Sub sections'

Is it possible to create a schedule with sub-listings for every object? For example:

Depending on how your families are constructed, yes.

What I mean is, what is "Content A Content A Add'l Info Content A More Add'l Info"?

Are these just parameters in the door family? Or are these nested components, also form door category?

Maybe you can upload some relevant files to give a better idea what you have.

Well, I just used a door as an example. My first intended use is for a 'Lighting Control Station' where it could have 2-8 'sub rows' of data under the Lighting Device Type. See the attached image. This is what I'm trying to 'get close to'. If I need to nest some type of family into my Lighting Device to accomplish this, I can. Thanks.

Merging of Rows as shown in your scheudle is not possible in Revit.

Something like hereunder can be done with a regular schedule

Louis is correct that you cannot merge rows the way you have shown. Would you be okay with grouping the common parameters (Location, Control Station #) similar to below?

@ToanDN that looks like exactly what I'm trying to accomplish. Could you send me that family so I can reverse engineer it? (or even the project that contains the family and schedule?

If you cannot post the actual RFA/RVT files, would you post screen caps & descriptions of how I can get there?

Now that I look closer, @L.Maas, yours might be similar/same as TOANDN's. Why a 'room schedule'? Or Multi-categor schedule? Seems like you guys are onto something I am unfamiliar with. This is why I LOVE forums!

Yes we are on the same page. It is just an Electrical Fixture schedule that references Room location, and with custom grouping. See attached file (2016).

The one I created is a mutli category schedule. A multi-category schedule can schedule, as the name implies, items from different categories.

The schedule I created uses also room information so that it can sort/group the items per room.

Which one you choose is dpending what you need to schedule. Different schedules have each their limitations.

As you can see from the one from TOANDN different type of schedule can work too.

So sometimes you have to use a particular schedule depending on the information (parameters) you want to see in your schedule.

By the way, I create the schedule and add the parameters on the fly. They are simple project parameters but if you need to tag the devices, you can use shared parameters. I prefer adding parameters in project over in family environment.

Guys, @ToanDN & @L.Maas, thanks for all your help on this. Because of it, I've found a very reasonable solution. Linking nested families through to a master family will get me there (with the limitation that you cannot edit in the schedule, only while you have the Device selected). Cheers!
