Why would revision be greyed out on REVISOINS ON SHEET dialog box

I have 3 revisions on my project I'm trying to uncheck the first 2 revisions so they don't show on rev block. I can uncheck first 2 revisions on all sheets of project except one stinking sheet. I would greatly appreciate any input.

hello, you can try this. thanks

1) The box is checked and greyed out because there are clouds assigned to that revision in one of the views on that sheet.

2) Go into your revisions and make sure it shows clouds and tags for the revision you want to uncheck. You will need to erase those clouds to be able to uncheck that revision on the sheet.

3) Just remove all information relating to that issue from the sheet composition area

I take a less surgical method to Revit when I can't find clouds hidden by the team etc. and just cut out the problem.

I go straight to the Revision table, delete the revision (along with all clouds and tags) and recreate it, pushing it back into the correct sequence. Saves stuffing around. Obviously, this only works if revision clouds aren't of concern on other sheets and you are just after a revision number. So take caution with this method.

It shows on the title block when the cloud is on the sheet; Select >> Right click > Hide ALL the cloud(s) relevant to the revision (on all views/sheets) and it will not show in your title block anymore. (PS: You do not need to delete them)

Turns out that revision was set to NONE under SHOW column of SHEET ISSUES/REVISIONS dialog box. I turned cloud an tag on, found cloud and deleted it.

Its just a hack

Try going to sheet issues and note down the revision details somewhere(you will need it later).

and delete it and save and when you need to show you can add it again and it will show up.

This is a typical Autodesk forum thread- a bunch of people avoiding the direct problem and offering cockamamie workarounds that involve hunting around for things, and little tricks. No one from Autodesk popping in to say 'oh, sorry... we'll fix that in the next version.' The issue here is why are revision categories greyed out, and why is this locked. HOW DO I MASS DELETE ALL CLOUDS IN A PROJECT? I don't want to be asked why I'm doing it. I have very good reasons. I don't want someone to explain to me 'the logic' of why they're greyed out and fixed in that state. It's not relevant to me. I'm not satisfied with answers that require me to poke around and delete clouds until they disappear from the revision schedule. I could buy a reliable used car for what is spent on my behalf for Revit. This is unacceptable. This original post was 4 versions ago! Just fix it. Fix your terrible software.

If you need to delete all revision clouds tied to a revision, the fastest way is probably to delete the whole revision.

Please Autodesk don't grey out the revision sheet check. It's common to be working on multiple revisions and clouds that are not issued yet. It would be cumbersome to delete the clouds that hasn't been issued just so they don't show up on the rev. table. Seems obvious. My hack is to print the pdf and whiteout the unwanted revision date in pdf.

I agree but I would implement it in a different way. If the revision is not 'Issued' in the revision management dialog, then it will not print any of those clouds and it will not be in the revision schedule of the titleblocks project wide. Or possibly this is a new checkbox entirely like 'Hidden' or 'Future'.

I personally like that the revision schedule is forcefully populated when there is a revision cloud. I think if that was removed (or made editable), there would be sheets that would not be printed for revisions because no one saw the revision was turned off.

Your request doesn't make any sense. The reason a revision is greyed out in the revision on sheet dialog is that there is actual cloud under that revision has been placed on sheet or in a view on sheet. That box is only tickable when you have no clouds on the sheet.

we have a project right now. 75% GMP are addendums and after 100% issue Revision. They want to remove the addendums from the revisions list but not the revisions. keeping that box ungrayed and editable would be such a help.

Agree.....This Revit program is so expensive to have coders doing the work of structural engineers. Coders do not know how to produce constructions documents and all the necessary and flexible steps it requires.
