Revit 2017 Placing Component

Since installing Revit 2017, when I try to place a structural Connection component, they family type list says no matches. Shown in the pic..

General component families like (like desks, chairs, trees, and user created ones) work fine, but i have to click a previously created one and hit "Create Similar" Then the the family types will be listed, Including the structural Connections.

Only seems that when a Structural connection was placed last or currently selected, the types list shows no matches.

I'm having the exact same problem. Placing a component, and only a component has this issue, the list comes up empty, but it's clearly loaded in the model. Need a fix ASAP.

What view are you placing them in? They may be workplane based so they need to be placed in a Floor plan or 3D view and not in a section view. Since they look 3D that would be the case. Detail Items (2D elements) would be placed in a Section view.

I contacted Anna Oscarson of Autodesk, she was able to reproduce the error
as we were having. I discovered that the bug is cause by something in
the drawing file that I was working on, so I sent it to her for
research. (Some other drawing files, component placement worked fine).

It’s definitely a known issue now.

Ive been placing them the same as in the past, (plan View), only thing that change was Revit version.

Just ran into this issue or something similar, and we are running on Service Pack 1 and 2. Our problem was a Structural Connection was loaded in the Workshared project, but not displaying in some users properties drop down/ component list and when reloaded by the user it was not placing the correct Structural Connection component. Our workaround was to drag and drop the item from the Families list in the Project Browser.

how do i rotate a component before placing it?

Normally you can just hit the space bar.
