Hi! Revit was working fine, then all of a sudden it wont open. I cant get past the opening screen and a while empty box. I have installed the plug ins and reinstalled Revit 3 times now. Also, my work colleague is having the same problem. Ideas?

Try doing a windows system restore to the last date/time it was working. Then you can install plug ins one at a time. I suspect it could be a plug in that has caused this. I have had a similar issue before. Hope this helps. Good luck

Can you provide more specific details what error is it showing? Maybe a screenshot of the error.

Have you performed a clean reinstall, removing all the installed files and folder from the installation directory and performing a registry clean up? Maybe this could help you.

If this doesn't fix the problem then you need to restore your windows back to the point when it was working perfectly fine. If you haven't created a restore point for the windows then I am afraid you need to format you OS drive and perform a clean Install again.

This may be due to some file error in windows.

I am having the exact same issue. Why does this garbage software have so many issues? Why does it need to communicate with their moron webserver when I am trying to use predownloaded install packages.

Whoever writes software for this compan should be shot in the face.

I am having the same issue, the garbage program will not start, just a blank white box with an okay button pops up after the splash screen hangs for a few seconds, clicking ok just closes the program.

I hate autodesk, I hate autodesk users. I called this idiot company and used their automated system to schedule a callback and never got one. I have never dealt with such garbage software in my life. I have been dealing with IT issues for over 15 years.

I had a very similar issue. When I went to open up Revit 2017, it would simply just open up to the first page then say not responding. I then went to uninstall the program, however, it came up with "repair or reinstall" aswell. I clicked on it and then clicked repair. It restored the original data from the program and I was able to run Revit perfectly. Hope this helped

I did actually end up finding a solution. When you go to uninstall it, through programs and features, it has the option to repair or reinstall. Try both and see if it works.

***************************************************************************************************

The State of Queensland through the Department of Education and Training (the Department) - Notice
This email and any attachments may contain legally privileged or confidential information and may be protected by copyright.

Cause

A corrupt installation may result erratic startup behavior. This could be a result of a computer crash or the program not closing correctly. The error log, or the windows Event viewer, may also refer to mshtml.dll as being a crashing module.

To correct startup corruption issues, there are a few things to try.
First, empty your temp folder.

Close open programs

Click the WIndows Start button

In the Run box type %TEMP% and press Enter (sometimes large number of temporary files in windows %temp% folder may be the cause - please clean this folder on a periodic basis)

Highlight the contents of the folder

Press [Delete] and confirm

If a message displays indicating a file is in use, click "skip"

When the delete is through, test

I suggest you uninstall the application once again, open Windows Explorer and delete the residual Revit folders, they should be clearly named and reside in these locations:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\

C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\

C:\Users\All Users\Autodesk\

C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\

C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Local\Autodesk\
