Can we adjust the top or bottom a component layers of an assembly wall to a non-horizontal boundary? See example below. I would like the exterior CMU to remain full height but the interior furring to follow the roof slope. Currently I need to build 2 walls and join them.

Can you attach the wall to the roof? Notice in this picture, how one layer of the roof continues straight and the other layer follows the slope of the roof.

You have to draw your roof footprint just to line up with the appropriate wall layer.

It works for walls with their layers not vertically modified (only one grip to stretch the entire wall height). I did modify the layers in wall structure editing so that I can stretch the layers individually and now I forget how to reset it. Any idea?

I dunno then. Works as expected for me. Try deleting the wall and remaking it, first checking that the type has no modified structure / unlocked layers. If that doesn't do it, try remaking the deleting the roof and remaking it, drawing the borders just out to the appropriate wall layer, and picking the attach walls below when the option pops up as you finish the roof.

Dont have 2017 so I tried several times to fiddle with a wall and a slanted roof assembly for over an hour in 2016 but cant seem to be able to regenrate the error you are getting 😕 so it must have something to do with how you placed the wall or the roof/slab ... In such case I can only second what chris suggested delete and place either slab or walls again

Thanks for spending time on that!

If I cut and paste in place that wall then it will attach to the roof as intended. I suspect that once wall layers are modified, it may have troubles attaching to other geometry, even though the layers are reset afterward. I will do some more test to confirm it.

Cutting/copy and pasting gives the element a new GUID so it might be the issue with the original wall placed...give word on the testing results. Although I'm not having the issue but curious to know what is causing it. Would be handy just in case one comes across a similar issue and wants to troubleshoot

Tested with a new file and my theory was wrong. Walls with non-modified layers (or modified then reset) will attach to roof. There is some glitch with a particular wall in my file but I gave up testing and will deal with it when actual projects require.
