Hey

I need to write some text notes on a plan and i want them not to be printed.

i know revit doesnt has "non-print layer" option,

so i thought about create a "not for printing" text type, create a dependant view called "floor 6 PRINTING" and hide that type on that view.

but i find out that it's possible only to hide whole text catagory, and there are ofcourse some text which i want to reamain.

isn't it possible to to create text note catagory which then i can hide? or take advantage of another catagory for that? or hide only one TYPE of text notes?

Dynamo is integrated with Revit as of 2017 (sort of, it isn't a separate download anymore)... And getting the script from someone makes it a snap to implement. No complication necessary.

If you are using Revit 2016 – use can create a “Multiline Text” family that you could turn on and off in project views.

How you would do it is by creating a family and giving it a “Multiline Text” parameter (a real gem!), as well as a visibility parameter. Then load and place a generic label and associate its “Label” and “Visibility” parameters to these two driving parameters.

...

If you have information that will not be printed, in my opinion, that information should be in a working view. It is good to have some "working views", different from your "sheet views". You can organize the project browser so that these working views are visually separated from the sheet views. Then, use the working view to write annotation that is not going to be part of the set of sheets of the project.

Do you talk about "duplicate with detailing"?

the only problem is that if i'll add new anotation on the main view (which i WANT to be printed) it wont update on the working view.

If it will be possible to make a view which is dependant but only ONE SIDE and not the other - it'll slove my problem

Hey, im trying to do the same thing. I would apprciate if you could share the script with me - if you still have it 3 years later. Or, point me in the direction to write it myself, having never used dynamo before. I just opened dynamo for the first time today and its not as straight forward as I hoped. Thanks.
