Wall shop drawing - residential

I was wondering if any ones what is the best way of creating shop drawing for walls. I have been task to create wall panels for wood framing, concrete block and ICF for residential high volume production. All this done from one model that houses architectural and structural constructions documents.

I know i can create assemblies and views from there but the first problem i see is how the wall are joined. I do not think i can show the core of the wall on the shop drawing without having to unjoin the corners. This will cause problems in how the construction documents look. On a 15 feet wall. I only care about the core and not the finishes for fabrication so I can dimension properly.

Any ideas??? From the started i thought about assemblies. then sections but none of this allows me to see the edge of the core. I am thinking i might have to create a linked model and copy/monitor the whole thing so then i can then use walls without finishes and unjoined corners.

Please provide feedback

Can't you create parts, merge the parts that your're interested in (for a better graphical representation), and then create assembly and working views/schedules from those parts? Or am I misunderstanding you?

That is a good idea. I would have to try it but from experience that still does not help with seeing the edge for the core to pull dimensions. I would have to depend on grids and for a 2500 sq ft house, it seems a lot of work.

Diego, I don't understand: if you're not seeing the edge for the core, what are you seeing in Hidden Line mode; nothing at all??? Perhaps this a VG settings issue?

I am looking for fabrication. I would need to cut sections/elevation of this walls and show all components, such as opening, electrical fixtures. The problem is getting the 30' dimension on plan. cleaning up corners (mitter/butt) created issues on display. This walls are not built this way

Your screenshot "ss" shows wall parts condition at corner. You can clean this up by merging together parts. If you want a different join condition, such as a miter, then miter the wall joins before you create parts.

If you can do it for floor plans why can't you do it for elevations or sections? Or am I misunderstanding your question?
