topic TOPO SURFACE IFC EXPORT FROM CIVIL3D in Revit Architecture Forum

Hi There,

I am trying to find the best work flow for creating Topo surfaces for REVIT.

We use Civil3d and can create nice surfaces and display triangles. I am testing exporting the triangles as an IFC file and it come in great to REVIT but as a generic Model, each triangle and I have over 1200. I can then group them. Is there a way to turn this into a family and assign materials to triangles?

I cant upload the ifc as its not a valid extention????

I know the other way is to link CAD use the layer for topo surface but it created more surface than what I am after, other than just the extent of the triangles?

Thanks

Allan
