Revit architecture 2014 family editor section box

When in Revit 2017 family editor, I open a 3D view of my 3d modelled family. I select the 3D view and change the view properties to turn on section box. I adjust section box to cut through family but section box doesn't cut through anything?

Any ideas why?

Unfortunately I can't answer why, but In family editor section box can cut only walls, roofs etc., not a family geometry.

Section box doesn't exist in family editor environment in Revit 2016 and earlier versions. It's new in Revit 2017 so it might be having such limitations. I don't have Revit 2017 yet so I haven't tested it.

You are not quite right. Just follow steps below and you'll find section box in family editor. Even it Revit 2015.
