Multiple instances of the same view in sheets not supported when trying to copy

Multiple instances of the same view in sheets not supported when trying to copy view to clipboard. There isn't multiple instances of the same view on the sheet! Why is it saying this? I have attached a screenshot of the problem. I need to figure this out ASAP for a deadline. Please help! Thanks.

It has always been that way. When you copy a view to clipboard Revit assumes you are going to paste it some where. So it is not allowed. What are you copying the view for?

I'm just trying to copy the detail views of that sheet to another project. I've dealt with this before and had to individually copy each view from insert view from file and then rearrange them onto a sheet in the new model. It just boggles the mind that this program can't handle copying this information quickly and effectively from project to project. Its literally the difference between 10min of work and 2 weeks since I'm trying to copy 50 sheets!!!

If the sheets only consist of drafting views then you can insert the entire list of sheets to the other project. All the drafting views will come intact to their sheet.

Ok I see sheets now when I try to insert views but many of them are not on there and I still get an error with the ones that do show up when I try to copy

If your sheets have non-drafting views such as model views, detail views, legends then you must save the source project to a temporary new file, remove all of those views except for drafting views from the sheets you want to copy, and save it. After that, see the simple screencast below:

I still get Error 1 when I try to copy with 0 info

Why are you still copying? I thought we were talking about Insert Sheets from one project to another?

I've deleted everything but drafting views - could there be something inside the drafting view causing this problem? Here is a sheet with just drafting views and this drafting view has all its categories that are possible in these drafting views. Do revision clouds cause a problem?

I am using the insert from file command under insert tab and trying to insert sheets. What way are you talking about? I attached an image of the prompt - if I hit okay it gives me error 1

That is the way I show. Elements in drafting views including revision clouds and keynotes should not be the problems. I don't know what else to tell you. It never fails me doing this way. Maybe you can try insert sheets to a new clean project file to see where the culprit is?

Yep, it works fine when copying into a new project. It doesn't when copying into our project. We can't have it any other way. Both projects are a specific building type that share similar components (not meaning the Revit term but stuff like settings or whatever that may have the same name). Could they be interfering with the copying?

Check the 'Project Browser' workset see if it is owned by anyone.
