I am having the same issue, I have selected automatically imbed, my wall is on axis, I tried the above video with no improvement, and tried removing the wall in all ways imaginable and it's still not embedding. It works for some curtain wall but not that one I need. Any other updates?

Curtain walls refuse to embed into walls. I've tried copying similar curtain walls from other floors into the same spot. I've tried using the cut command but it only lets me select curtain wall components such as a mullion. This is occurring when changing the exterior wall and trying to place the window back into the new walls. The curtain wall doesn't cut the wall and just shows up outlined inside the wall.

Automatic Embed setting is under Type Properties.

You can also use Cut Geometry to cut the Curtain Wall from the Wall if they overlap.

Must be a bug; I found that deleting the wall you want to embed the curtain wall in and reapplying it should pick up the automatically embed parameter and the cut command. I found this usually only happens when copying curtain wall elements and rotating them.

Thanks for the info.

Unreal that Revit has to have perfectly aligned walls. What about existing conditions? What about creating a model that replicates existing conditons where walls are NOT perfect? Amazing. Autodesk really needs to get acclimated to those of us who are using scanned data to replicate existing conditions so that our remodels actually work.

Curtain wall tool is meant to create vertical systems and they only embed into vertical walls. If your walls do not meet the criteria then cut it using other means such as a void or an opening.

thanks for the video but in my case, once I click on the ''cut geometry'' icon, I can select the wall but the curtain wall won't show!! it shows before when I hover on it, but not after I click the icon.... I dont understand how to fix this. Is there a way to setup the curtain walls to automatically imbed into the wall ,not just in plan view but in the elevations/3d also, just like any door or window?

Old thread with recent update...I'll add, curtain walls will automatically embed (if that type parameter is on) IF it is aligned with the "host" walls center line. Once it is embedded you can usually move forward or backward in the wall's thickness to adjust where the curtain wall is within the host wall. If you try to sketch it away from the center line it may not automatically embed...so I always sketch it right over the center line and then adjust. It's always been more reliable this way.

We just found this same issue. The existing wall into which we were trying to embed the curtain wall had a "slanted" cross section, which was set to 0°. As soon as we switched the existing wall to a vertical cross section, everything worked as expected.
