Show revision history on all sheets

Our standard is to show the revision history on all sheets whether the sheet contains a revision tag or not. As it is, only sheets with a revision cloud and tag show the revision in the table on the titleblock. Is there a way to show the revision numbers and dates on all sheets? I'd prefer not to create a rev cloud>tag it>Hide them on 300+ sheets.

Yes there is but you need to do it manually or maybe with dynamo?

what I do in this situation is make are Really small rev cloud in an unnoticeable location on my titleblock, no tag required, copy to clipboard, then use Paste, Aligned to Selected Views which will bring up a list of all of your sheets. Select the first one, Shift select the last one and hit OK. All of your revision schedules on all selected sheets now contain the revision information

Attached is a dynamo script and a test file. I set the script to apply all revisions to all and only Sheets belong to "Issue Set" Sheet Set. You can rename it to match you Sheet Set.

For some reason, the script only runs effectively the first time it loaded. So if I need to run it again, I need to close dynamo, reopen it, and run. There is no need to restart Revit though.

Maybe I'm missing something but you should check out Xrev UpRev. Great free plugin that makes applying revisions to all sheets very quick and simple. Hope it helps.

LOL! in the time that it would take me to open that webpage, create an account, log in to that account, download the freebie files, install the freebie files, figure out how to use the app, have to deal with another 3rd party app...well, I could have created a quick small rev cloud on one titleblock then copied it to 400 other titleblocks in less than 30 seconds. Now that's quick and simple!!

Apart from the useful information which you already received in this thread, I figure that THIS POST which I created a while back might be useful to go through which also has a Revit Sample File included.

This will also help when you use the "Show in Revision Schedule" along with the "Itemize every instance" under your revision schedule sorting and grouping options.

Yea i just figured that it would be something helpful in the long term. I hate trying to keep track of random elements on the sheet when I have the option for a cleaner solution of managing revisions.

so i stumbled upon this while looking for something else, but i'm now curious about something for the sake of the GC... how do they know what sheets ACTUALLY have the revisions in question? That poor GC has to scan each sheet to see if it legitimately has a revision on it or not? Sounds painful... If revisions #1 and 2 aren't on a sheet, they shouldn't show up in the schedule on said titleblock.. it should just start at #3 if that's the first time that sheet has a revision that pertains to said revision #3... It makes it SIGNIFICANTLY easier for the GC to know what sheet to actually be looking at for changes pertaining to say the 3rd revision instead of always seeing ALL the revisions on ALL the sheets..

Please do correct me if i'm wrong, cause i'm definitely curious now as to how it benefits them to see them all on all the sheets.

Good comment.

The GC, and other contractors on-site, each have a set of plans. When you dole out a partial set, say 55 sheets out of a 400 sheet set, that requires everyone involved to tear their set apart and add/replace only those sheets. Some will only replace the sheets that they think apply to them only, when they may actually discard relevant sheets. If everyone has "the current set" then everyone is on the same page (pun intended). On my sheet index, I add a column for each revision number and indicate which revisions apply to each sheet.

There is an add-in called UpRev. Try that. It will not need you to drop a revision cloud on the sheets to add in revisions to the schedule.

My company just recently purchased Revit 2019 and I am attempting to create custom titleblocks for our office standard and a couple custom titleblocks required by clients. I have created the titleblock and added the required labels easy enough but am having trouble navigating how to get the revision table to act the way I want. I need to show the revision history (up to last 4 or 5 revisions) for each sheet. The original thread was about adding the history to all sheets, I need each sheet to show its respective history. The given parameters allow me to show the current revision and the current issued revison but how do I get past issued revisions to show as well? Do I make custom parameters? If so how to I point them to the later revisions in the revision list?
