Triangular cladding - Urgent!

Hi forum
i need to create a cladding on the walls in my revit model, the cladding should be triangular, like the image i have attached, but i really dont have a clue on how to do it. I have been looking into surface patterns, but the problem is, that each panel in theory could have a different color.

also it should adapt to windows, doors etc. and it should be something that can be placed directly on a concrete wall, meaning no curtain wall.

hope you can help me, and please dont hesitate to ask my any questions that could help you help me!

Below is an example of how to create a very simple one to get you started. You can go further to details such as the window details when you are comfortable with getting the basic module in place.

Hello @Anonymous

the method demonstrated by @ToanDN works but personally I would go there only when the form is more complicated. For the elevation you have shown you can use a simple curtain system and tilt the grid then you can substitute the sold panels/windows/doors to your desire by simply unpinning and replacing...

@RDAOU Welcome back to the forum! We missed your expertise here.

Regarding this topic, I thought a curtain system could only have a 2-direction grid. Her design shows a 3-direction grid. Or am I missing something?

@ToanDN thanks I've been off for a while ... lots going on

curtain systems indeed has two grids however if u put two trianglar Panels together you get the same rhombus shape which results from tilting the curtain grid. And since it is only cladding

the grid/mullions are concealed
the V Grid and the U Grid will serve as the primary structure (Rhombus shaped)
the lateral secondary transom/mullion would be modeled as part of the cladding panel (i.e.:concealed showing only a groove on the front) hence no need for the third grid.

kinda makes life easier with the doors and windows too... as well as take-offs and phasing if or when needed

@Anonymous It is easy...and convenient when it comes to openings (no special families will be needed)

to title the grid:

after er you create the curtain system

1. Tab select the curtain wall (a plane like icon will show in the middle)

2. Click the "Configure Grid Layout" (the icon mentioned above)

3. Enter the angle you need either in the properties dialog or directly on the grid

For TOAN proposal

How do i make a space between the panel edges? When i render it, it shows a plain facade.

i have the triangles divided into 3 different shades of White (1 raw, 1 a little bit glossier, and one with a lot of glossiness)

but it just comes out white, which is why i need to make a space between the panels

For the divided surface approach: I will show you with a screencast.

For the curtain wall approach: Create a mullion type with the dimension of the gap and assign it to the
curtain wall type. But I think you already know it.

I went on with your solution, so i dont have curtain Wall

but the conceptual mass, Booth solutions were great but ny boss wanted the mmost advanced layout (ofc)

Look above. I exaggerate the gap for illustration but you can control it with parameters for a more parametric solution.

Hi! I know this is old but is there any way of adding a mullion around the glazing?
