upgrading from 2016 to 2017 - text gets larger??

I'm trying to upgrade some of our projects from 2016 to 2017. I've been opening some titleblock families and upgrading and saving as. I have noticed that the text seems to be larger in the 2017 versions. If I check the properties it says it's the same size but it is obviously larger as it it overlapping other text and wrapping at different locations. Please advise. Thanks.

I placed a dimension as close as I could to the top of bottom of a couple of the larger text items. This view is 3/8" = 1'-0" scale.

It's true. Text in 2017 has increase in size because they changed the way to determine the height of the text. It affects text notes but not labels (tags), dims, and schedule text.

I had to change the text size to about 90-95% of the original to avoid clipping.

Has anyone figured out the percentage? I don't mind changing it but it would be nice if I could just use a percentage to change instead of trial and error to get back so that the title blocks and annotations fit where they should. IMO this would be easier than adjusting the title block lines etc etc.

Please advise.

I changed 1/8" text to 15/128".

Note also that different fonts will likely require different reductions, because of the different ways each font is designed. (36 point in one font will not necessarily produce the same letter height as 36 point in another font.)
