Thank you for responding; I don't know what an RCP is, and I would like to know soon - meanwhile I was just hoping that there was a way to insert a jpeg, with a transparent background into revit. I know they exist because I found one on Revitcity, but it was cartoonish. I tried making transparent jpegs in Photoshop but they didn't come in to Revit that way. Thank you for the suggestion though - I will experiment with that soon.

Are there any 2D plant elevations for Revit out there? I sketched an elevation of a house rather than modeling - took me an hour. I have spent the last 6 hours trying to add plants. Have tried converting dwgs - not working (wrong version), and found some in Revit v 2017 - I have 2016. By this point I could have modeled the house and added some vegetation because I havve plenty of 3D plants - I'm under the wire!!!!!! Any sources out there? Thanks much -

I responded to your post on Revit Forum. Archvision is a good source for RPC families. BTW, you can also create entourage families that do not use RPC content for render appearances.

@Anonymous

A simple google search for CAD drawings of tree elevation gives plenty. Download and import in Revit either as detail component family or directly in project.

Thank you for your response - unfortunately I keep getting an assortment of error messages when trying to import dwg files such as "content can't be found", or wrong version, they come in as one big file - more like a jpeg (can't split them apart) - I tried using photoshop for jpegs but they kept coming in behind the house - wouldn't move above it even after I tried grouping the lines - I'm pretty much done - have spent now over 8 hours on something that should have taken me one hour. SH_T!

SORRY about wining, and thank you again -

Uhm you need to go to the link in my post, download the zip file, unzip it to a folder, and import the dwg fike or files in Revit. The picture in the post is just a screenshot showing what the webpage looks like. Do not import it please.

For Elevation Views and other 2 d Views, I use Detail Items and Raster Images( the most of them made by myself 😞

Detail Items - Annotate>Component>Detail Component - You can made them by yourself using a .dwg base

Raster Images with alpha mask : .png or tiff

.DWG Files

For 3D Views ,I use Raster Images into Sheets ( mainly .png wit alpha mask)

Of course , you can use .RPC files for rendering purposes and not only and 3d models from .dwg

on SHEET:

I,ve attached two examples of Detail Items and one .png file , made by me.
