wall sweep cut by inserts?

All,

I'm assuming the answer is not, but see the attached file for more info.

1. IN ORDER TO GET CORRECT TRIM VOLUMES IT WOULD BE GREAT
IF MY CABINETS CUT OUT THE PORTION OF THE SWEEP THAT LAYS
BEHIND CABINETS.
2. IN-PLACE WALL SWEEPS ARE NOT AN OPTION
3. STANDARD WALL SWEEP (ARCHITECTURE>WALL>WALL: SWEEP)
DO NOT WORK FOR THE SAME REASONS.
4. I COULD EXPORT THE WALL SCHEDULE TO EXCEL AND BACK OUT

THE CASEWORK LENGTH, BUT THAT SEEMS LIKE A MESSY WORK-A-ROUND

PS Another notion I tried was to add my casework family to a windows family (with no window just the opening) but the opening will cut a whole in the (which is correct) but clearly not desired.

Try remove the opening cut from the casework window family and see if it helps.

Just tried what I suggested and it did not work. Maybe using parts?

Change the cabinet family category to GM, create a solid object inside the cabinet and apply transparent material so it’s not visible in the project. Use join geometry in the project to remove the sweep behind the cabinet. File enclosed.

That's a quite a brilliant idea. You can even nest a shared generic model family inside the cabinet family and use it to join with the wall sweep to cut it.

Nest a void family into the casework family, getting it to cut the sweep?

We all wished it was that simple. You cannot cut a built-in wall sweep with a void.
