I have just noticed that we have a lineweight issue with a family that we have. This family is set as a generic model. The issue we face is that while using our view template, this generic model has a heavy lineweight even though the weight is set at 1. When we create a brand new elevation and don't use the template, the lineweight shows correctly as being lighter (what 1 normally looks like). I have browsed through our template and compared it to the fresh view and I can't find what is causing the difference. Can any of you compare the two views and tell me why the lineweight of the generic model shows different in the two elevations?

I can't open your 2018, but what you are describing might be due to changing the graphic properties of the element in the template view. Did you?

I just opened it on a 2018 workstation and don't see issue using "THD Cabinet Elevation" template.

...you are applying a line pattern override in "THD Elevation" template though

Sorry I should have clarified that. I have created 2 building elevations. One called "front new w/o template" and another called "front w/ template". The one with the template is using the THD elevation template.

No, the one title "front w/ template" does have a template applied to it. The one titled "front w/o template" is a fresh view and has no template applied to it. I need to figure out why the one with the template applied looks different. In looking at the settings of the view template, I can't see any difference that would make the family appear thicker.

No that does not solve the issue. My issue is regarding the projection lineweight of the generic model family. Clearing out the override of the projection surface pattern does nothing. They are not related.

Well I just tried creating a new view with no pre-applied template. Then I matched line by line the visibility/graphics settings from the normal template. Interestingly enough, the problem doesn't reoccur. I wonder if this is perhaps a defect that occurred during a release upgrade and just somehow corrupted that view template. Has anyone else run into this? At least I know how to work around it now in the meantime...

When you mentioned overriding the graphic properties of the individual element, I took that to mean overriding the graphics display of one element or a category of elements.
