I have created the geometry through Dynamo and then using the massing as a mass face for the curtainwall to be attached to. I have successfully created the curtain wall system but in the curtain wall system the panels cannot be using another curtain wall nested into it.

So, the diagram would be

Also, was wondering if anyone has an insight on what would be the best way of creating a shadow box in the panels family.

Any help will be appreciated.

Nesting a curtain wall type as panels of another curtain wall only works with Curtain Wall, not Curtain System. I don't now how your system looks like, but you can look into curtain panel pattern base or adaptive family.

Hi

Thank you very much. The problem is that the massing is a trimmed surface and its now a SAT file linked into a mass family. Adaptive component are very hard to create constrains? Like if it's a complex family with many constrains it is usually very easy to break? Or if you know of any good adaptive component pages I can study further?

Also, was wonder if you know of any good simple ways of creating a shadow box in a curtainwall panel (a system panel).

Thank you.

The facade we are having is anyways a faceted one so no curved fanels. but still at the edge it is a little difficult to deal with.

This is using adaptive family on divided surfaces. Need to add the shadow box and operable panel later.

That is a very good suggestion to go for for the profile to be incorporated. Thanks!

The problem of pattern based curtain wall is that we are aiming to trim the geometry instead of evenly divide it so you will get triangle or irregular shaped panels.
