Hi @Anonymous

You have tried all the right options and looks like your updates are all in place.

A few questions for you

Which graphics card are you using?

Does this problem occur in any other machine/ user profile/ and model specifically?

Did you experience this graphic glitch earlier?

A few things to try:

Please check the Revit Graphic Card Troubleshooting Center and try disabling Hardware acceleration.

Hi

I seem to be having a similar problem as mentioned in this post, but the solutions suggested don't seem to be working. We are working in 2017 and I have applied the relevant updates, purged the model, ran an audit and checked the shadow settings as suggested.

We recently started having some problems viewing the model in 3D perspective/camera in it's native graphics (Hidden line, consistent colours, shaded, etc) for linked models in the host project. For the linked files (Total 4) geometry seems to becoming transparent in places and crashing through elements were it shouldn't. I have checked the linked file and they seem to be fine. When we run a render the majority of the elements correct themselves, and in 3D view everything is in its correct location, this only happens in the 3D camera / perspective view.

I have attached an image to show what I'm talking about. If anyone has any suggestions we would really appreciate it.

Owen

It appears to be Topography that is causing the issue, when topo is turned off the view appears fine however when turned back on to "Breaks" the model in the view? Does anyone have a fix or solution for this?

I have tried

Cutting and replacing the topo.

I've tried "Turning it off and on again"

and adding a section box to the view and adjusting the far clip offset

None of these seem to work

Viveka

We've never experienced this issue before but I have seen it mentioned on another forum unfortunately no solution was given. As it's a shared model, we've tried opening it under a new user but the problem remains even when new views are created.

The Graphics details have been attached

I have tried to adjust the graphics and transparency slider. The issue seems to be related to the topography of the model but I can't figure out why

Thanks for your responses, I can't send the model at present and the issue is still persisting, but I do need to complete an audit of the file. If the problem sersists I will try copying into a new document and setting the views up again. Hopefully this will help

Hi

Unfortunately I never found a solid solution for this problem.

May I ask how far away your model is from your project base point or survey point? When I was seeing this model up I was learning by the seat of my pants so I probably made a few errors. This was one of them and I suspect it may be contributing to the problem.

If you find a solution please let me know.

@Anonymous

Two possibilities:
1. model is too far from Revit Origin (No Origin may not be the same as Project Base Point or Survey Point);
2. 3d view is corrupted. Just delete it and create a new one.

Yes the 2nd option worked. The 3D view was corrupted, also East and West view.

I`m using the 2018 version and I worked with bigger models then this and never happened before...

The topography doesn`t have a survey point and its almost centered with Revit origin.

Can I ask why this phenomenon happens?

Many thanks for the technical support and God bless you! 😉

Best regards

Ricardo Narciso.

Hi there.

I've experienced the same and did the following to resolve. This issue is view specific which means that the 3d view has a glitch. When using shared models, a default 3d view is created for each user. Follow these steps:

Delete the '{3D}' view for the specific user, or if it still shows transparent, delete all '{3D}' views.

Click on 'View', then default 3d view for revit to create another 'default' 3d view.

The issue should be resolved.

This glitch needs to be fixed... It's occurs whether or not you have hardware acceleration on. And I have seen this as a constant issue at least back to 2012. It's the number one complaint from users in my firm. "Why am i seeing lines as if the view is in wire frame?!" This fix appears to have worked.

I had the same issue, and I tried the second option and it seems to have worked!

Thanks!

Hi,

No matter how many times I delete and create a new 3D view, I'll have a clean view for a few minutes and then it goes back to showing in the transparent wireframe "glitch" view. Always goes back to the glitching view, has there been any progress or solutions for this?

We've had IT mess with hardware acceleration and a ton of things. They run our hardware so I can't make any changes the the graphics driver itself but they've done extensive work on my machine to make sure it operates properly so I don't think that would help anyways.

Thanks in advance!
