Hi there,

I've also noticed this with Revit 2019 as well......no License Transfer Utility shortcut created under the Start menu.

I did find the utility program in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdLM\R15\LTU.exe, which is

similar to the Revit 2018 version. I have tried setting up and using the shortcut created using the same parameters as Tony Michniewicz's with Revit 2018, but it doesn't work.

Even tried double clicking the executable file in the abovementioned location, and the LTU doesn't work. Is there another way to transfer the license, apart from uninstalling the software from one machine then reinstalling it on another machine and hoping that I can reactivate the software online?

Hello All,

I noticed that when we installed version 2018 that there was not a license transfer utility option for Revit. We have the Autodesk Building Design Suite Premium 2018 and all other products (AutoCAD, etc) have one but Revit.

This is a problem not being able to take the LTU to my personal laptop to "learn" on my own time.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance....

There is an issue with the Revit 2017 and 2018 installer that results in the License Transfer Utility shortcut not being created for Revit. The good news is that this is just simple shortcut that can be re-created. Here are the values for the Target and Start in fields:

Target - "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdLM\R14\LTU.exe" 829J1 2018.0.0.F -d SA -l en-US

Start in - "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit 2018\"

I have the same problem with Revit LT 2018 where the license transfer utility was not installed. I tried the shortcut idea listed above but that didn't work either , even when I changed the product key. I just want to transfer my license from my old computer to my new one; why is this so difficult!

I figured out a bit of a work around. I went ahead and installed AutoCAD LT 2018 (this is part of a suite so it shares the same license and as I don't use autocad that often I hadn't installed AutoCAD LT 2018 yet; I was still just using my previously installed Acad LT 2017) and under the custom installation of Acad 2018 you can make sure it installs the Acad LT 2018 LTU. Once installed I activated the Acad 2018 and then immediately used AutoCAD LT's LTU to export the license. After that it was fairly straight forward since it is a shared license and Revit LT 2018 picked up on the AutoCAD LT verified license .

Still not sure why Revit LT won't install the license transfer utility but looking at other comments in this forum it seems like it is a known bug......

hmmm...this worked on one machine here in the office, but not on another. Double-clicking the file does nothing.

I even tried running it as administrator.

Any ideas? Both machines are the same serial number, as we have multiple seats.
