REALISTIC VIEW PROBLEMS

Hi!

I just downloaded Revit 2017 onto my new laptop, which is a massive upgrade from what I was previously working on. Unfortunately, the realistic view in my revit looks awful (please see pictures attached). I have tried a couple of things to change it and I can't find a solution to the problem. If anyone has seen or experienced this problem, please send me he solution.

This is the realistic view - notice how the materials are showing upThis is my rendered view - this is what my materials actually look like.

Go into the Material Editor and edit the material. Check Use Render Appearance.

I think that is where your problem lies. If I am wrong, then please feel free to share a stripped down file.

That option only affects Shaded Views, not Realistic. There is something else going on.

All else failing - can you share a file that shows the behavior?

The same files behave perfectly on my other computer when I try it on there, so it's not the files that are wacky.

@Anonymous did you follow the links that I had sent you? This definitely has something to do with the computer then.

Open R>>Options on both machines, make sure that both match the picture below.

Where did this material come from- does it originate from a 2016 model?

That shouldn’t cause any real problems. Looks like either a bad material or a duplicate item Hover your cursor on the edge of an object and hit tab. You can establish if you have an identical duplicate in the same position.

Or open material editor and change the scale size of the material image - it looks like really dense tiling of an image. Or substitute a material in 2017

That means that you are using Hardware Acceleration.

In the Material Editor, try playing with this -

(grasping at straws here)

All else failing - can you share the file?
