Is there a possibility of working with Oval grid heads?

Hello,

Is it possible to work with oval Gridheads???

In my attachment is a screenshot of 3 possibility's how to use my gridhead.

option 1: This is how it was, this works fine.

option 2: Here I did 'edit family' and added an oval, I did not move the circle in the family. For some reason in the project my grid head has moved away from the grid line on both ends of the grid line....

option3: this is my ideal situation. In this case the gridline Always intersects with the gridhead on one of the ends of the grids...

Can someone help me out?

For some reason Revit prefers circles. It won't recognise other lines as a boundary.

The same probelm arises when you want a different shape for callout tags for instance. Only works well with circles.

I would advise against it. You would need different family and grid types for horizontal and vertical grids. And angled grids simply don't work.

The stock grid head families are all symmetrical, built inside a circle; they include Circle, Hexagon and Square (also No Bubble). An Oval is possible but like @ToanDN replied you'll find it isn't any more satisfying and the others shapes (see images). The No Bubble grid head family has a circle using Invisible Line style to adjust the location of the end of the grid line (hex and square do something similar).

I'm guessing the third image won't fly for you either but it's a little better looking, just using the Show Border option for the grid label.

I think I was able to get it to work.

I made a vertical version (type) and a horizontal version (type) to control the text.

The trick to get the grid line to end in the right spot it to have a circle adjacent to your slot/oval.

Then selected the circle and change the instance parameter to not be visible (unchecked).
