Hello community,

We have been using an application called Export Schedule 2017, to export schedules from Revit to Excel in .xlsx, this keep the format from Revit and avoid the export to txt and then import into Excel and then modify the format.

The app seems to be discontinued, not updated to 2018, and the developer architools seems to not exist anymore.

We would like to migrate to Revit 2018 but this app is key for us, do you know any other app that does this???

Many thanks in advance!!!

A way around this is the following:

1. Open Revit and print out the Sheet that has your schedule on it to PDF format

2. Open Bluebeam Revu and go to File Tab, then Export, then Excel Workbook, then Page Region

3. Draw the rectangular region around your schedule and then it will ask you to save to xls format wherever you want

You can download a trial of Bluebeam Revu and use for 30 days for free....Download the eXTreme version.

I do not want to use bluebim, it does not make any sense, I need a free app to easily export to excel without third party software.

Much easier than this work around that you mentioned here is to use the normal procedure, export to txt, import in excel and modify the format.

I just need the old Export to Excel 2017 from architools but working in 2018...

This "work around" seems to do exactly what you wanted. It does come at a premium as BlueBeam is expensive as it does so much more, but it may be worth it because BlueBeam does do a lot of things that are extremely helpful in our field that other similar programs do not. Maybe you can find something similar that does not cost as much that will do that conversion for you.

Yeah free apps come with a cost as you are now seeing. That's the one reason I try to work things out in native apps whenever I can.

By the way, you can do the Revit to TXT to Excel and you only need to format the Excel once. Any future updates will have the same format. Get back if you want to go this route.

The bluebim workaround is maaaaad,

We create schedules all the time, the workflow is suuuper slow and does not make any sense.

If I explain that workflow to anyone they'll laugh at me.

I meant what I wrote.

- Export a RVT Schedule to TXT

- Create a new blank Excel file

- Create a TAB and name it RAW

- Link TXT file in using Data > From text to RAW tab

- Create another tab and name it FORMATTED

- Copyclip everything from RAW and paste link to FORMATTED

- Format the table how you want it and save

- Next time when you update the RVT shcedule, just Export it to TXT again and overwrite the old TXT file. Then open Excel file and refresh the datalink and the formatted table will be updated while retains the same format.

This is great. Thank you!

Is there a way when you add new rows to your Revit schedules, that it can also move your formatting for your headers and footers in the Excel file?
