As a designer that used to draw in pencil, always flipping your scale around to find the right edge, I had to adjust when learning CAD. No need to interpret scales any longer, just draw at full scale. Revit is the same. In CAD, you scale your viewport after placing it. Now I understand... in Revit, you scale the view before placing it.

OK... I'm committed to learning something new everyday in Revit. At the same time, I'm also using Revit to produce concept drawings for current projects. Today's lesson is on creating Sheets. When I drag a plan into a sheet, how do I get rid of the (north, south, east, west) view markers...? and how can I increase the size of the drawing? At this point, I'm not interested in scale, I just want to fill the page with the floor plan.

be kind... it's only Monday...

"When I drag a plan into a sheet, how do I get rid of the (north, south, east, west) view markers...?"

Before doing this, open up floor plan, select it, visibility graphic overrides/ annotation categories/ uncheck elevation. But, if you prefer keeping those tags on the view, but not on the sheet, just position them beyond the crop region. I assume you played with crop region?

"and how can I increase the size of the drawing?"

This is controlled by view scale. Create custom scale to fill the drawing. However, if the sheet is border-less (like, not important at this stage of yours), you don't have to print the sheet. Print the view and set fit in the printing options.

If you have rescaled a placed view an easy way to restore the 'automatic' position/size (line length) of view tags is to drag the already placed view on the sheet from project browser back on to the sheet.

Yes I have played with the crop region. dont know why I didnt think to just move them outside the view thats placed in the sheet. that seems simple.

And yes, I eventually figured out how to scale a view before placing it on a sheet. The first views I ever placed were 3 d views, and they can be scaled afterwards... that left me wondering why I couldnt scale a plan view. I was looking in the wrong place, but I found it.
