Hello,

I am cleaning up our company template file's material library.

There are some materials that I want to be using the same Asset but I am finding that Revit keeps duplicating the asset w/o me wanting to.

I am also finding that this automatic duplication behaviour in only taking place with the Generic asset.

I am aware that Revit has some Default materials that assigns to elements by default (pardon the redundancy) but I could not find any documentation/post explaining why this might be happening.

Thank you for your help.

J

Dear all

I would kindly disagree that the problem has anything to do with double clicking vs clicking the double arrow.

I just found that the problem described above only occurs when you replace an asset on a material with an asset from the Autodesk Library and only if you do this multiple times. Each time you add a material asset from the Autodesk Library it gets added to the Documents Assets. From then on it should be selected from there for following materials which need the same asset and not from the Autodesk Asset Library as this will result in duplicated assets.

I hope someone still has some use of this info. I know it bugged me for quite some time. Happy I found it at last

Have a very nice evening all. Wish you well.

Paulus
