Hi,

I'm trying to render a house in Revit LT but cant seem to get anything realistic. See image attached. What am I doing wrong?

I'm using the Autodesk render in cloud service, but cant seem to get anything realistic. I have checked the wall have a realistic appearance in

structure/edit dialogue box.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim.

Hi @woodstim

See article on how to use the Realistic visual style, which displays realistic materials and textures within Revit LT in real-time.

Did you try rendering locally? If so, does this give the same result?

Can you check if the materials are have the paths correctly?

Looking forward to your reply.

From the image, it looks to me like there is a phasing override that is affecting the materials used on the walls and roof. did you use phasing at all on this model?

Maybe if you give me the instructions on how to model and render a simple house or walls etc, I can then see if it works? I can work through your steps and see if it works for me.

Tim.

Hi @woodstim

Rendering photo-realistic images locally is one of the options not available in LT (only cloud rendering is available in Revit LT)

For rendering using full version see HERE

Check the video below for steps:

For cloud rendering in Revit LT see the video below:

Also see Best Practices: Rendering

I would suggest that you could download a trial of the full version available for 30 days, if you want to try a local Render and test it.

Regards,

Why can't Autodesk allow those of us that simply can't afford the full version of Revit because we are a one-man or one-woman operation like me, and don't really need the team aspects of full-on Revit, to be able to do photo realistic renderings with the program we use to design in 3D with. It almost feels like blackmail to me. It almost makes me almost want to leave the Autodesk platform and move onto the other less expensive software's that will allow me to do photo realistic renderings in their products. I suggest that Autodesk think of Architecture like I do, it can be art when well done, so why limit the artist visions by limiting the power of your software for the smaller firms out there.

Thanks,

Paul

Having to purchase a minimum of 100 tokens to Cloud render at an exorbitant rate of $300 is also out of the reach of small one-person businesses.
