Interesting question. I've been to France. Notwithstanding of the different codes and regulations governing their construction, French stairs look just the ones in the US. Slight humor aside, what specific modeling features are you looking for?

Good morning,
Stairs are governed by different codes effectively. But above all your question is too vague. Indeed stairs have regulations according to their destination.
If you use stairs in environments open to the public I invite you to use this page of the French government site.
http://www.accessibilite-batiment.fr/erp-neufs/circulation-interieures-verticales/escalier/arrete.html
For stairs in housing are less restrictive, but it respects a law known as "Blondel" which consists in calculating the rise of a staircase as follows a bosom multiplied by two heights should be equal to sixty four. this makes it possible to obtain comfortable stairs.
Another site on the subject of stairs: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escalier
Then according to the establishments it is necessary to calculate the units of passage according to the affluence of the place and its destination.
One last thing, the steps must be defined according to the number of steps per flight, a flight can not exceed a number of steps greater than twenty.
Attention to finish to check well the destination of your building, according to its use the rules will change and will be more or less constraining for the vertical circulations and the elements of protections, like the ramps of access for the persons with reduced mobility and the railings.
Reference for environments governed by the labour code :
https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/affichCode.do?cidTexte=LEGITEXT000006072050
Reference for environments governed by the building code :
https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/affichCode.do?cidTexte=LEGITEXT000006074096
Reference for establishments receiving the public :
https://www.service-public.fr/professionnels-entreprises/vosdroits/F32351

Obviously not everything is in these texts, but it is a beginning.

Have a nice day.

Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator

Bonjour,
http://www.accessibilite-batiment.fr/erp-neufs/circulation-interieures-verticales/escalier/arrete.html
https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/affichCode.do?cidTexte=LEGITEXT000006072050
https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/affichCode.do?cidTexte=LEGITEXT000006074096
Référence pour les établissement recevant du public :
https://www.service-public.fr/professionnels-entreprises/vosdroits/F32351

I think you misunderstood my question, Sir. What I asked you was: "what specific modeling features are you looking for." By "modeling", I mean 3D modeling tools that we designers use to build stairs in Revit. I wasn't talking about the specific Government, State and Local Building Codes that our stair designs must adhere to. I ask because I'm fairly certain that I could model a "French" stair with my U.S. version of Revit.

Can you just edit the Stair type and modify the properties to match the French standards. I can't imagine they are drastically different from the UK's, if any, it's the sign telling "Lent Mesdames et Messieurs s'il vous plaît déplacer vers la droite" instead of "... to the left".

Good morning @barthbradley,

I was answering the first question indeed.
Having already installed both the English and French versions of Revit, there is no difference between the two in terms of stairs.
It is just necessary to adjust the standard elements correctly in order to comply with the requirements of the client and French law.

Have a nice day.

Bonjour @barthbradley,
