Collaboration Cache Management

I wish that every time that Revit is started it would look at the collaboration cache and any project that has not been accessed in more that 6 months would be deleted from the local cache. This would reduce the likelihood that users will get a cryptic message an ACC file cannot be opened.

Some of my users touch many projects over time and having the cache hidden in the deep bowels of Windows doesn't help with managing these files either!

At least Autodesk needs to provide users with a tool to manage the collaboration cache.

If you feel strongly about this concept, consider posting it to the Revit Ideas forum. That is intended to be one of the pathways that users can attempt to bring specific workflows and concepts to the design team.

If you only post here it's talking to an echo chamber, we're all users and not Autodesk developers.

Do you have IT people where you work? This is something they can resolve for you with a batch script and scheduled tasks.

My users know to clear that folder periodically. It's a part of thier regular computer maintenance along with deleting temporary files..

Hello! I come back on this topic with some noob questions:

1. These cache files are responsible for helping the user with the waiting while loading times and also backups of the files?

2. So, in my understanding, if I am synchronising/saving correspondingly when working in collaboration/individual files and after that even publish the files, I should be safe to delete any cache file that I am finding in those folders that have cache in the name?

3. What should I NOT do when dealing with cache files and folders?

1 and 2. Yes.

3. Don't ignore them. Old ones can cause issues.
