Section Head color

HI Members,

I have shown wall elevation with the sections instead of using elevation marks at some places. Elevation marks are in black colour and section marks are in blue colour. So, the clients asking us to keep the colours same.

Is there any way to change the colour of section head, I'm surfing around the websites but results are showing it couldn't be changed. Please suggest any other workaround to get this.

Make sure that the printing setup has this unchecked:

This will probably be enough for what you need (Section heads will remain black even though appear blue in the viewport). Btw, its easy to change the color of the section head. You just need to play in the family editor.

You can also use filter that coloring sections in any color you want.

Hi guys,

For some reason, I am still unable to make the section head color turn green. The tail changed to green, but not the head. I have uploaded a test project for you to view. Thanks!

Hi,

Yeah i have the same issue, the tail changes and the head doesn't. Although **** change briefly but I couldn't replicate with the another section tag even though they are exactly the same, which was weird. Upon restarting Revit and Windows the head reverted back to blue! Strange.

ha! figured it out, the blue designates the section is linked, it prints the correct colour 🙂 Now I seem a bit dumb, lol

Is there a way to see a preview without having to print? or changing the colour of the activated section option?

We just encountered this problem as well.

Figured it's none of the solutions given above.

It ended up being the 'Cycle section head' icon.

When you select the section, you get 2 little blue circles that allow you to cycle between the Heads, Tails and nothing.

Click that cycle icon until you've gotten the color that you want.

hey brother, ive done everything you suggested and the section head is still blue. the tail will change color, but the head remains blue. any other suggestions?

this is the only thing that sort of worked. but the head circle is still blue. any suggestions to get it all the same color?

It doest not change the section head color when applying filter. Could you explain in more detail ?

I've tried similar as above solutions, especially the steps given above by "Andrej Ilić" and "Zemeraloni"

I would apply these two methods, and would like to point out that after applying the filter, the colour you want will also print out in PDF.

So in this example below, I'm going to use Green as the colour for the whole Section Tag:

So in a Revit View, it looks like this after making all the lines and Filled Regions green in the Section Head Family.

(The black lines at the Section Head will still be shown, even after loading back into project, and despite setting everything in the "Object Styles" in both Family and Project, to green.)

But fortunately, it looks like this when printed in PDF (Completely Green).

And as others have mentioned, untick this box. This will make everything green.
