Please, follow these steps and retest the behavior afterward:

Close all Revit sessions on your computer
Go to Windows > Start > Search field and type %temp%
Hit Enter
Clear all instances in the Windows Temp folder
Skip all instances Windows reports to be in use

If clearing the Temp folder does not clear the issue, there are two more approaches to track down the cause of this error:

Check the Windows Error Report log (to see what Windows recorded as the problem).
Install last Windows Security Update

If the Event log shows the following entries, see this article: Error "Revit has stopped working" and then Revit 2017 shuts down

Faulting module name: RevitDB.dll
Exception code: 0xc0000005

Check the Revit journal file to see if it shows a problem prior to the error.

In some cases, the issue might be related to the Antivirus (Trend-Micro, Kaspersky, Sophos...).
Disabling or even uninstalling it could solve the issue.

If the steps above do not lead to a solution, cleanly uninstall and then reinstall Revit and follow the instructions highlighted in this article.

Hi Viveka,

I have similar issue Revit 2019 crashes upon saving file for whatever reason and probably worse,

I have installed latest hotfix and update and add-in or extension form Autodesk. It just won't stop crashing and I can't work on my project. So frustrating, Infact the only feed back I get is first, Save "command fail", And jext upon trying to save, the crash happens.

Please help

I'm facing the same problem: SAVE command not responding in Revit 2019.

Since I did not get a response in this post, I decided to post my problem here.

I followed the procedures below to try to resolve the issue but did not succeed:

Uninstalled Revit 2019 using the procedures on this the topic (https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/2017-How-to-Complete-a-Clean-Install-and-Uninstall-of-Revit-products.html);
Installed the latest updates of Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bit;
Installed the latest video driver update;
Reinstalled Revit 2019;
Installed Revit 2019.1 update.

Would you have any more suggestions?

It worked for me by installing the "Revit 2019.1 Update" and "Revit 2019.0.2 Security Fix" updates, respectively.

i am having the same issue. Revit freezes when trying to save ANY model, even the SAMPLE. It is very frustrating, i am using student version of revit and was thinking about buying it, but now i have doubts, bacause NOTHING works.

This is the things i already tried:

1. Restarting computer

2. Reintsalling Revit (clean install). Even installed newer version 2019.

3. Cleaning temp folder

4. Disabling add - ins.

5. Installed latest windows update.

6. Checked for video driver update.

Everything works on other machine.
