Converting from Autocad 3D to Revit

Hello,

I have a project that is saved on Autocad 3D , and i wanna convert it into revit !

my question is , do i need to rebuild all the elements (walls, floors, piping , cable path ...) ?

is ther are any extensions or another software that allows me to find the elements builded while converting !

Depends on what you mean by "convert it". If you are transitioning from AutoCAD to Revit, then Yes: rebuild the ACAD elements as Revit elements -- using Revit system and loadable families (e.g. Revit Intelligence). Stay away from in-place modeling. Use the ACAD only as an assist -- not as a permanent resident in the Revit Project.

You can bring the cad model in as a 3d geometry without any intelligence. If the purpose is for referencing / coordination then it maybe okay that way. But if you want to convert it to Revit elements then you have to rebuild everything and using the 3d cad only as the background to build on.

And there are tools to convert from 3d CAD to Revit, they are called Revit modelers. Some can take a whole workstation in your office, others maybe oversee like India or China 😉
