Hi Cliff,

Thanks for the response. To answer your questions I don't have any angular dimensions or any dimensions at all for that matter. All of our sections are perpendicular to the floors. Our only solution so far is to delete the floors entirely and redraw the boundaries. I want to try and avoid that.

Hi guys and gals,

I am having a problem with some of my floors and ceilings in my Revit 2018 project. We work with point cloud data to create as built models. One of the easiest ways for us to work is to draw our profiles for floors and ceilings in plan view, and then nudge them to the correct elevation in a section or elevation. However, on this project we have some floors and ceilings that change their orientation when we nudge them into place. Any idea what could be the cause of the problem?

Any angular dimensions set/locked on the floors and ceilings?

Are the sections and elevation views cut perpendicular to the floors/ceilings? (triple check that.)

Don't know whereas it will work for you. Thanks.

Try cut and paste the floor in place see if it helps.

Hi @dkollar

Please try detaching the wall before you nudge your floors and ceilings.

To detach walls from other elements

In the drawing area, select the walls to detach.

Click Modify | Walls tabModify Wall panel
Detach Top/Base.

Select the individual elements from which to detach the walls. Alternatively, if you want to detach the selected walls from all other elements at once (or you are not sure which elements are attached), click Detach All on the Options Bar.

This error occurs since the highlighted wall misses the target (floor/ ceiling) and won't attach.

Let me know if this helps resolve your issue.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question. Likes welcome!

Regards,

I think this solution solves the error message but does not explain why the ceiling flipped/rotated. I have the same situation. However I do not get a message about attached walls. I wouldn't expect one since I since my walls were not attached in the first place. I can manually input an elevation to achieve what I need. Still looking for a solution that allows nudging.

Thanks
