Bugreport - Revit 2019 two screen with different resolution problem

I am working with two screens (Ultrawide + laptop standard screen). I experience this bug everytime i use the new feature that allows me to detach a view from the main screen and move it to an other. As soon as I have a 3D view for example on my secondary screen, the property tabs´ roll down menus become confused and produces the following bug as seen in the attached picture. I suspect the program is having hard time to match the two different scale of the two screens.

I have seen this as well when using a 4K laptop monitor, 1920x1080 lcd monitor and a 1600x900 third monitor.

Revit has had issues with multiple different resolution monitors for years....it's best to either not use the lower res monitor for Revit at all if the difference is too much....or adjust all monitors to a bit closer to your lowest res.

The issue isn't with the different resolutions - but rather the different DPI scale factors between the monitors. Inside windows you can set the DPI scale factor. if they are the same there is typically no problem. As soon as one gets larger or smaller - it causes issues.

Setting both to the same will likely give you a different set of undesirable problems as well.

For example, your larger monitor is probably already set to 150%. changing this to 100% makes your text tiny. If you decide to up the scale (from 100 to 150) of the smaller monitor - you'll find that this text will become ginormous. Both scenarios are undesirable.

I always keep my monitors at 100%...if they were different resolutions it would do funky stuff...but that was 2017 and prior. Not sure how 18 and 19 would handle it as I just have twin 39" 4k monitors now.

Autodesk developers should be able to write the software to allow for any display resolution from 1280 x 1024 thru 4K. The user should not have to adjust display settings for each monitor connected to his computer. The fact that the pull down menus and other aspects of the software doesn't display properly, let alone in the correct location tells me the software is not written to handle the display resolution properly. In addition, on both my laptops (DELL Precision and DELL XPS running 4k), the display of Revit shows texts are missing in the Options Toolbar.

The ultimate solution is for Autodesk to correct their software. The solution provided is really a workaround and a compromise....not acceptable.

No offense to you...just want the best solution possible for users

Maybe you don't know that 4k support is relatively new. It took many years to come around. Dual monitor support is also new. It's going to take some time to iron out the bugs.

For now workarounds are the best solutions for the users, therefore totally acceptable and users offering workarounds to help other users should not be criticized so rudely. Your problem is with AutoDesk. You should direct your harshness in the appropriate direction .

First off...Not my intention to offend you or anyone on this forum or any forum. I am here to help...always have and always will. That being said, I appreciate your efforts in helping the customer. I don't really have any issues with you, the end users or Autodesk. I am just looking at the bigger picture and seeing what is best for the client. Compromises in my opinion are not always the best solution, although as you said they are solutions for now. It is true 4K is relatively new but it's been at least 3 years now....dual/multi-monitor usage/support has been around for much longer. I suspect/hope Autodesk is already working on the proper solution as we speak. Patience is needed at this time.
