topic Question about importing draft views and detail styles in Revit Architecture Forum

When I import drafting views from another file into the current project, does Revit create a copy of the object styles in that file? Which one takes precedence? For example, if I set a line style (ie medium lines) to a certain thickness, which one takes precedence - the view or the or the one in the current project? Or am I completely off and it's only view specific?

Thanks

It will ask if you want to overwrite or just keep new styles when you import. I always select new as I don't want my settings overridden from an older project. Bummer part is I get lots of lines I don't want.

If there are two object styles with similar names (or hatch patterns) I assume it automatically renames them? Thanks!
