I am designing the HVAC system in my Revit-MEP-Model (The Host model). As reference I have linked the architecture model linked into it. Im in a Floor pan where I can see the roof. Here I did model some ducts on top of the roof. The Roof has a Material surface pattern which is covering my HVAC components. How can I move this pattern to the Background?

What I already tried:

- in V/G i set the linked Model to underlay

- I Made a Filter grapping the Roof and made it transparent

-In V/G Links in the Model category Floor (The Roof is designed as a Floor) I did hide the sub category hidden lines

- In V/G Links in the Model category Floor I made the category transparent

- The view discipine is HVAC

- Theres no DWGs loaded into the project

Nothing seems to work.

Does the architect need to set the material pattern to background? to make it work?

i cant understand what is your link and where comes from, if your link is 2d you can try this too:

or if your link is revit link ,you can remove foregrounf or background pattern:

set model category dropdown to <Custom> and:

or check the visibility off.

if it's not work you can post your project or link in hear.

Thanks for the quick answers. The Linked model is a Revit model. The surface pattern of the roof is set in the foreground: By doing what @azad.Nanva suggested I could (Picture 3) I could get rid of the pattern by hiding the foreground pattern. Nevertheless my goal is to hide the pattern behind my HVAC ducts.

@vitorbortoncello The color of the HVAC ducts is controlled by filters. Non of these filter are set to transparent and the coler and pattern of the HVAC ducts are set in the foreground within the filter options.

@barthbradley I did set the kategory of the roof to transparent 100%, but it didnt change the situation, if the roof had a fill color it might have had an effect on the transparency of the fill color but the lines of the pattern is something else... I think.

I got some help from a collegue and got the problem solved. It not that logical. I did change the dicipline from Mechanical (Lüftung in german) to Coordination (Koordination in german).... then it worked. .. at first it didnt make sense for me that a pattern from an architecturial element would be viewable through a Mecanical object.....thats why I didnt try that option..
