dwg conversion from revit files - 2018 & 2019

Good morning all,

I am in need of a better way of exporting dwg files from revit.

There have been issues with the PCP files not providing the correct plotting configuration with our consultants.

Is there a way of exporting dwg files with the ctb file instead?

In Autocad... Print...Manage Plot Styles... Click on Add-A-Plot Style Table Wizard.

Here is a tutorial creating CTB from PCP file. It is ancient but the steps should be the same or very close.

Is there a way of creating a ctb file automatically from revit?

The problem is that revit creates the layering system & pen weights automatically. For me to work thru the exports takes too much time.

Have you considered just creating your own Custom Export Layers Text File?

No.

I would keep the export settings in Revit unchanged. If you print your Revit sheets and they look correct then the exported DWG should look correct if they print using the CTB you created from the PCP.

And you just need to create the CTB from the PCP once. Save the CTB file and include it anytime you need to send the CAD files out. It is pretty much painless.
