Linking live views

Curious if I can import details in multiple projects yet only make a change to the detail in the host view...and all other views update

No, but maybe Clipboard Copy/Paste to View would help ease the pain.

Yes. Draw the detail in detail model views (plan, elevation, section, etc...) , not drafting view. Link the file in and set the view to by Linked view.
