It works. Its what I have been doing. But I am looking for something more global. So that those elements dont appear at all rather than having to crop every view. What I really want is for the crop of the callout to cut the ends of the span so that the section cut has hard edges rather than seeing what is beyond the cropped views limits. This way the plan view and section views have the exact same span lengths.

Section Cuts in Callouts

I have used callouts to create individual views for each span of a multi-span bridge. I am taking section cuts through each of these spans to look at the parapet walls and fencing. I am placing the section in the callout view and each of the section cuts extends slightly beyond the end of each span so that I can get the view of the entire parapet. The section views are showing the elements that are in the adjacent spans even though they are clipped and not visible in the callout view. Additionally the section markers are showing up in the other callout views where I do not want them to be visible. Is there any way to get the section cut to show only what is visible in the callouts plan view and is there a way to prevent the section markers from being visible in other views without having to use hide them every time?

For reference my workflow is to use the callout feature to create a new view with just the one span. Then to place section cuts in the callout view. These are then annotated and placed on a sheet.

You can hide the true sections entirely and place referenced sections that are shorter so that they don't show on adjacent call-out views.

The alternative to this would be to just modify the section view lines without having to use reference views. The problem with both of these is that the parapet is sloped and I want to see the end of the parapet for each span without seeing the parapet and slab in the adjacent span. So just decreasing the size of the section view will prevent me from showing everything that is needed. Additionally I found that when placing the reference section beyond the limits of the callout actually make the section markers disappear. So this prevent me from showing the section cut accurately.

Edit: I misunderstood some of your response the first time. A part of the problem is that the section cut is showing the adjacent parapet, fence, and slab. Using reference section only solves one of the problems. Additionally I do not want to show the section markers shorter than the section they are showing. The markers should represent the full extents of the section they are cutting.

I suspect you've got non-cuttable elements in the section view.

Elements that have symbolic representation in certain views (such as structural beams) and non-cuttable families are not affected when you cut an elevation, section, or callout view by the far clip plane. They will display and are not cut.

For structural framing you can edit the families and untick "Precut..." box then reload them. For others, try to convert them to cut-able categories. then, they will respect the view clip and view range.
