Property Line Sub Categories

It would be useful to have sub-categories available for Property Lines so that the line style can be controlled without graphic overrides. For example, I want to show both a Property Line and a Building Setback line with a different line style.

I found a couple of posts with workarounds:

1. Select the property line and override by element the line style.

2. Create a filter by Comments, Name, or Mark and override the line style.

3. Create a line style specifically for the desired sub-category and use model lines.

All the same, it would be more efficient to have a predefined sub-category of Property Lines rather than having to set overrides for each view in order to display the lines as desired. The Property Lines category has unique properties similar to reference planes which make it better than using model lines to represent the civil line-work.

On a related topic, perhaps Property Lines could be modified to allow for embedded text labels as well. Given this is a unique line type/style, perhaps the limitations that have prevented embedded text in line styles being implemented elsewhere could be integrated into this unique category?

Could you please elaborate on "override by element the line style"?

I use "Line Work" tool to change the default revit property line, but they disappear when I applied a new line style, which is set to be visible. Any idea?

Select the property line. Right-click. Select Override Graphics in View --> By Element. Edit the Projection Lines pattern to be the desired Pattern (and color). Click OK. Note these graphic overrides only apply to the view in which they are made. The operation will have to be repeated with multiple views.

Hence, a view template could be used if the Property Lines had sub-categories.

See image below for example. Outer Property Line uses the default object style. Inner Property line graphically overridden to represent for example a dashed building setback line.

yo tenia que hacer algo similar una linea de polígono del terreno y una linea de limite de construcción, lo que hice fue ponerle nombre a cada una después agregue un filtro dejo algunas imagenes.

You could also link those as a .dwg and set line styles in VG/template.
