I've been trying to change wall settings for a solid hour to figure out why my wall layers aren't showing up in fine or medium detail levels, and am completely giving up.

The cut plane cuts through the wall, the wall is tall enough to make it to the cut plane.

The only wall override I have set up is for a keyplan view template, the walls I want layers shown in are not in any view templates. I have created a view template and assigned these plan views to it and still did not solve the issue of visible layers.

I am very lost as to what the issue could be so any help would be great 🙂

I'm was experiencing a similar problem with my walls that are 2'-6" tall and my Cut Plan at 8". Why does this matter? If I increased the wall height to 7' it displays as expected.

I changed my View Range "Bottom" to -4'-0" and "View Depth" to -4'-0" leaving the "Cut Plane" at 8", and the 2'-6" wall appears with wall layers, as expected.

I’ve reviewed your issue and couldn’t find any major problems in a similar setup. A few things you can check:

Element-level graphic overrides – Did you apply any visibility overrides directly on the wall elements in the view?

View template settings – Make sure the template doesn’t have a filter overriding the wall cut patterns or detail visibility.

Material settings – Check if the wall layers' materials have appropriate cut patterns assigned. Sometimes, missing or white patterns can make it look like layers aren’t visible.

All three of these methods worked fine in our test file. Please double-check them and let us know your results. Happy to help further if it’s still unresolved!

Walls less than 6' are considered pony walls so they are not shown with layers even when the cut plane cutting the wall. Set the top of the wall to be associated with the level and top offset to the height you want they they will be cut properly.

I had the same issue, and checked these three sets of settings. But they turned unsufficient, even though important. Next i checked the Detail Level setting for the section view. By default it had been Coarse. Its change to Fine or Meduim solved the problem

hi @michaelabman456

1-Several factors can cause this issue:
2-Ensure the wall height is at least 2 meters. Walls shorter than this may not display layer details.
3-Ensure that the Detail Level in the current view is set to Fine.
4-Confirm that the wall is not in a different Phase.
5-Verify that the correct Design Option is active (if you are using design options).
6-If you used Create Parts, set the Parts Visibility in Properties to Show Original.
7-In VG (Visibility/Graphics), ensure that the option 'Non-Core Layers' is enabled under the Walls category.
