Hi,

I am having problems with some 3d graphics, shadows aren't showing smooth but pixelated instead. I have a Nvidia GeForme Gtx graphic card, so I don't think this is the problem.

I attach an image with the error.

Thanks in advance

No, I do not (in the 3d view). I have realized that introducing a "plane" or terrain makes the pixels go away 95% or the time. I do not know if its a graphic problem or simply an error occuring just to my document.

Thanks for the reply!

Try to print or PDF and see if it’s there. I think this is only some graphic issue on the screen. I suggest you just leave it if the print and PDF is fine.

Otherwise you can try to unable the hardware accelerator setting in Option. Or update your graphic card drive.

There must be a toposurface or floor (or any kind of surface) so shadow has something to land on. If building 'hangs' in air, there is no place for shadow to show up. Had same issue, created a toposurface and it worked out.

Reinstalling GPU drivers has fixed this when it occurred in our office. Your mileage may vary...

(late reply, but incase others are searching in future)

Edit: This has been 'marked as a solution,' but just to be complete: note that while it generally should be a graphics driver issue, just reinstalling may not be enough for everyone's system, you may need to do a clean reinstall, or do an indepth driver removal with DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller from Guru3D) before reinstalling the driver (or even roll back to an earlier driver version).

New one comp, with super strong graphic card and I am experiencing glitches with every scenes, even sample one. I have found temporary solution with disabling "Use hardware acceleration (direct3D)" in Revit, options, hardware.

It actually shows up pixelated once you make a pdf as well. Interestingly enough, even when it looks well on the screen, sometimes it will still come out pixelated on the pdf, so it doesn't only affect the views in the program but also the output

To add to the causes of the pixelated or shifting shadows:

1. The floors are present to "catch" the shadow but are transparent

2. Multiple floor (or similar surfaces) overlapping

3. Origin point too far

4.
